CHANDIGARH: Though 62-year-old Mohali homemaker Chander Kanta had an urge to create various artifacts from different waste materials around her to save the polluting environment, she started realizing her dreams only four years back. Initially, she made small items for her friends, but now has displayed nearly 1,000 of them in an exclusive exhibition at Chandigarh Museum and Art Gallery. “This is my biggest exhibition so far. I have exhibited different creations like pencil boxes, flowers, pots, jewellery boxes, table lamps, coasters, baskets and wall hangings. I have even used waste tyres and tubes to carve out different artifacts. "
